Each street light comprises two 60W LED fixtures per pole (120W total) and solar panels combined with two batteries in order to accumulate sufficient energy during day time to produce light up to three winter nights in a row, which corresponds to 42 hours autonomy. In order to achieve an even better level of energy efficiency, the system incorporates the possibility to reduce the consumption by dimming the power of the luminaries in certain hours of the day using a light intensity regulator.

The Linear LED, in combination with a diffuser lens, emphasizes the architectural rhythm of this Tower, located in Beirut, Lebanon. The electrical consumption of 5.5W per linear meter is approximately 90% lower than that of fluorescent or neon. Each LED strip had been tagged with a serial number in the post-production phase in order to facilitate the installation. “It was clear to us that the tower, being located on the sea front, would be exposed to wind on all sides. The Linear LED provides a perfect solution, because it is sturdy, hardly needs maintenance and uses very little energy, while highlighting the balconies beautifully,” comments Frederik Hoffman, General Manager of MCI.
